Evade Rapier Build – New World Season 10 DPS Guide

The Evade Rapier Build is a top-tier DPS option in New World Season 10: Nighthaven, emphasizing mobility and rapid cooldowns for Rapier abilities in raids and PvE. This guide covers everything from attributes to gear setups. Evade Rapier build is currently the most commonly needed slot filling raid slots, like for Isle of Night, and provides some of the highest DPS possible while also being one of the easiest to obtain and more affordable builds. There are variations to this build depending on your current gear, but there are good enough alternatives that are easy to acquire. Gear score for this build is more important for weapons, but still less important than having the right perks.

Evade Rapier offhand for New World Season 10 DPS Guide

Skill Tree

With Hatchet mainhand, we take Raging Torrent over Infected Throw, and with an optimal team Accumulated Power passive is not needed. With Fire Staff offhand, we take the weaken from Incinerate and quick caster abilities like Fireball when we are not in melee range, or to start fights.

Dexterity 350
Intelligence 150 [fill the rest]

Heartrune

Brutal Heartrune of Grasping Vines will be best well-rounded tool for this build, providing a 3s Root, 8s Weaken, and most importantly a 5s Rend. In the Hive of Gorgons Typhon fight, for example, you can root Corvids to prevent them from jumping backwards, allowing your team to kill them faster.

Typical Buffs and Trophies

You should ideally have 5 buffs above your health bar, and Major trophies at each of your 3 houses matching the enemy type you are facing. For example:

How to Play

  1. Drop Oblivion, then immediately swap back to Rapier
  2. Evade to get bonus damage and Empower going
  3. Flurry
  4. Light Attack to get Evade off cooldown faster until Flurry comes off its cooldown

You should be spamming abilities as much as possible and when repositioning into doing damage spam offhand abilities.

When enemies move and if Oblivion is back up swap to Void Gauntlet and run back into place to drop Oblivion for the team and repeat the cycle above. Be aware if your healer drops Oblivion for you, this is not needed so you can stay on Rapier to DPS. Oblivion drops should ideally be rotated between this player and the healer.

Empower details

Powerful Honing Stone 7%
Omnidirectional Evade 8%
Keenly Empowered 12%
Leadership (team) 10%
Oblivion (team) 15%
Total 52%

Empower is capped at 50%, but having more than 50% can help you manage to stay at cap at all times. To know where your current Empower total stands, check out the Empower Calculator.

Tips to remember

In this exact build, Inferno will scale with Strength, making its abilities still viable for ranged damage if you are not able to be within melee range, which maximizes damage uptime.

Your Rapier in this build will still benefit from the Keenly Empowered perk from Inferno from crits on your Rapier,

For Offhand options, all of the below are viable, and what you end up picking should depend on what your team is missing. It’s generally bad for 2 people on a team to be using the same offhand.

  • Void Gauntlet – mostly just for dropping Oblivion
  • Ice Gauntlet – passive damage with Ice Storm and Ice Pylon
  • Spear – 5% rend spear build to apply Rend
  • Hatchet – Rending Throw + Infected Throw for weaken
  • Fire Staff – apply quick ability rotation which stacks DoTs
  • Bow – apply DoT abilities
